ABR Help Topics
This web site is presented as a convenient, free of charge way for you to access a partial, on-line version of the official Australian Business Register (ABR).
This service is maintained under the A New Tax System (Australian Business Number) Act 1999. The main object of the service is to make it easier for businesses to conduct their dealings with the Australian Government. Due to the limitations outlined below, neither the Registrar of the ABR nor the Commonwealth accept any liability arising from the use of, or reliance upon, this service.
Limitations of the information available through the ABR Service
The Registrar of the ABR monitors the quality of the information available on this web site and updates the information regularly.
However, neither the Registrar of the ABR nor the Commonwealth guarantee that the information available through this service (including search results) is accurate, up to date or complete. This is because the official ABR is based on information supplied by businesses to the Registrar of the ABR. That information may have changed since it was supplied by the business and was included in the ABR, despite requirements on entities to formally notify the Registrar of any changes.
You should consider using other sources to verify any information obtained through this service.
Furthermore, the fact that an entity is listed in the ABR is not a guarantee of the commercial viability or continuing existence of the entity, nor is it a guarantee that any apparent use by an entity of its Australian Business Number is in fact properly authorised by the entity.
Non-availability, interruptions and faults in using the service
We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the service is available for internet users. However, we cannot guarantee to provide continuously available access to the service through this web site nor to provide access which is uninterrupted or fault free.
