How can information be changed or updated on the ABR?

You can update or change ABN details:

at www.abr.gov.au, select Change your details' (You need an Administrator AUSkey or an ATO primary digital certificate to perform this function online)
using the electronic lodgment service (ELS) (only available to tax agents)
by phoning 13 28 66
by mail

using the Change of registration details (NAT 2943) or
in a signed letter to the ATO containing the information you want to change.

You must be listed as an Associate or Authorised contact for your entity on the ABR for us to accept the change.

Legislation requires that the Registrar must be notified within 28 days when a change to the ABN details occurs. Refer to subsection 14(1) A New Tax System (Australian Business Number) Act 1999 (ABN Act).
